Why not do something different for your stag or hen party? Surprise your friends with an action packed experience and learn to play polo!

You can opt to sit back and enjoy a delicious breakfast while you have an introduction to the sport from your instructor. Then learn about the rules and tactics of this amazing game before learning to hit the ball on the ground with short ‘hand mallets’- there are four shots in polo!

The final stage is to mount the ponies and learn to ride, polo style, before being divided into teams to compete for a winning rosette. To complete this exciting action packed morning you could enjoy an optional gourmet lunch pitch-side or arrange another surprise such as tarot readings or a back & shoulder massage. Polo Hen party prices start from £75 per person* for the basic 1½ hour lesson.

10.45 Polo Swing using Short Sticks
Learn the polo swing without worrying about the horse. Practice the four basic polo strokes under the careful watch of our qualified instructor.
11.15 Polo Riding
Using very quiet, safe horses geared to your riding experience, learn to move, stop and turn your polo pony.
11.45 ‘Stick & Ball’ Practise & a Mini Chukka!
Hitting the ball under instruction whilst mounted & have fun playing a mini chukka!
12.15 Prizegiving
Rosettes to the winning team!

We can tailor your day to suit your requirements, please phone the office for more information. The individual gourmet picnics are presented in a specially designed box and hand-prepared that day.

At the time of booking:

The participants will need to disclose their height and weight and let us know if they are a non-rider or have some riding experience.

On the day:

Everyone will be required to sign an agreement of the instructor’s terms & conditions and to disclose any medical problems.

What to bring:

  • Any prescribed medication (e.g. asthma pump)
  • Sturdy footwear with a small heel (trainers are not allowed)
  • Chaps or riding boots
  • Jodhpurs/riding jeans/comfy trousers – single seams on the inside leg are best!
  • Thin, close fitting gloves/riding gloves
  • Suitable outerwear for all eventualities of the English weather
  • Anyone with a Riding Hat with BSI Kitemark (Current Standards are BS EN 1384:1997 and PAS 015:1994) should bring this with them.
    Polo helmets can be provided by the club, but not all of these have been tested in accordance with British Standards.

Spectators are welcome (they can help with photography!) and help share the excitement of the day.
