What's going on in 2009

What's New at Sussex Polo Club for 2009
As always we aim
to be innovative at Sussex Polo Club and provide our members with
unrivalled value for money and an exciting and affordable fixture
list thus living up to our 2009 motto of
''SUSSEX
POLO - RIDING THE STORM!''
New Southern Counties League
We are
introducing a Southern Counties league which will provide variety
and low cost polo for all of our full playing members. The league
for 2009 includes West Wycombe, Little Bentley and Brightling. The
level will be -4 to 0 and can include one professional player (max 2
Goal handicap) per team. Entry for visiting teams is free with just
the host team paying their club's usual one day entry fee. Each Club
will play 3 home and 3 away league matches. The League will
culminate in a Championship day at Sussex Polo in September with all
four teams playing a fourth and final match to decide the 2009
winners.
Novice Matches
Novice
matches are one day events from -6 to -2 and will be played on the
chukka ground with three-a-side. There are a maximum of five novice
matches per season (Please note that chukka members can play in
Novice Matches). Maximum of one pro per team. Note:
Pros cannot score and maximum handicap is 2 Goals.
Entry fees
are £150 with the winning team receiving prizes.
Champagne Jaquart Challenges
Champagne
Jaquart Challenges are very flexible as they can be set at any level
and on any one day, with the exception of Mondays. Professionals
may also be happy to negotiate a reduced rate for mid-week games.
There is a reduced entry fee of £150 per team making this an
enticing and affordable option for some top class polo.
Club Tournaments
These are
unsponsored events but nevertheless very competitive. Depending on
demand, we can cater for two levels of entry usually ranging from -6
to +2. Entry fees are reduced to £300 per team with the finalists
all winning prizes.
Sponsored Tournaments
La
creme de la creme! As
always, we aim to provide our members with some prestigious and
exciting events, sponsored each year by high profile brands such as
Puffa, Square Peg, AIRMILES and Champagne Jacquart. There are
usually two levels of play to enable all of our full playing members
to be included. Entry fees are as per 2008 at £400 per team which
will cover paramedics on both days and prizes for all, plus £50 per
team per day for a professional umpire if requested or required. |
